PLE4YOUTH Platform Module I

On the one hand, young people will find in the www.ple4youth.eu direction the possibility of accessing the e-learning platform that will be created in SPOOC format (Self-Paced Open Online Course), a course that is followed in the order and rhythm decided by the user. This training will be the basis for continuing to learn about the topics of interest throughout life, through the use of a PLE (Personal Learning Environment), a digital environment that allows generating paths or learning flows for each specific topic and that can be customized.

More than 10 years ago the term PLE was coined to refer to the adaptation of learning. To date, formal education has not had much travel, but it is a powerful tool for learning within a non-formal and informal environment. A PLE allows you to control and manage those topics of interest to continue learning. This project tries to bring young people tools for their development, which allow them to adapt to their concerns and demands for information, so that they can continue to train

in those skills that are relevant to their training, both for their work and social needs. The PLE4YOUTH platform will be linked from the project’s own website, which is proposed under the following domain: www.ple4youth.eu. It will consist of a PLE programmed under the free software Symbaloo and will contain three main modules grouped together.

Module I shall contain:

1. SPOOC created with Moodle

2. Digital identity. How to create a suitable digital profile. Strong passwords .

3. Protection against viruses and other computer problems. Avoiding digital risk practices

4. Avoiding situations of cyberbullying, grooming or identity theft, phishing, etc.

5. Critical thinking in the face of fake news. Learning to identify them.

6. Gender equality. Identifying the types of gender-based violence.

7. Equal treatment and non-discrimination.

8. Volunteering. Types of volunteering.

1. Mental health problems such as anxiety or depression

These listed topics are collected throughout the three modules.

The innovation of this proposal lies in the complementarity of the e-learning platform and the PLE.

PLE4YOUTH Platform Module II

Module II will cover:

1. Creativity.

2. Entrepreneurship.

3. Tips for your CV, and how to get along in job interviews.

4. Natural environment. Environmental considerations.

5. Reduction of the carbon footprint.

The PLE will be created incorporating these topics. The PLE is a continuation that allows to evolve the static contents of the SPOOC, since it allows to generate alerts and surveillance of pages or link with other interested parties. In reality, a PLE is a digital environment where a series of links are ordered that also allow us to trace learning paths to continue deepening a topic. The advantage is that this digital environment is entirely possible to customize to follow up for any topic of interest, beyond those initially raised in this project.

PLE4YOUTH Platform Module III

Module III will consist of the following topics:

1. Emotional control and mental health.

2. Loneliness and resilience for young people.

3. Immigration.

4. Learning about soft skills

5. How to work as a team collaboratively.

6. Inclusive leadership. Examples of the advantages of having different and complementary profiles.

Implementation activities in Ibi

It is about developing the contents and having a target group to assess the results. Receive suggestions and implement them. To this end, evaluation questionnaires will be prepared.

We will work with at least 10 young people in this testing process. The SWOT of the Implementation Plan provides the following analysis:

WEAKNESSES:

1. The members of the focus groups may not be fixed. Although it is planned because it is a two-year project, this could distort its value contribution.

2. Representation of only three countries. This weakness is compensated by the very important international networks of the partners, especially YES belonging to different European networks. In addition, it is possible to use proformas such as SALTO YOUTH.

THREATS:

3. Not achieving the critical mass of the desired target group set at 10 participants.

4. Focus groups that do not reflect the reality sought.

5. Lack of participant involvement in focus groups.

6. Not getting a high interest rate in the PLE4YOUTH proposal.

STRENGTHS:

7. Complementarity of the consortium.

8. Complementarity of knowledge of the consortium. Each partner leads each of the modules incorporated in the PLE4YOUTH platform to be developed.

9. Competent and experienced consortium.

10. Network of contacts with administrations, associations and local media. Membership of European networks.

OPPORTUNITIES:

11. Apply the different tools in their adapted use to personalize learning.

12. Establish long-term cooperation.

– International projection.

Implementation activities in Nicosia

This activity to be carried out by the Cypriot partner will be a replica of the proposed Implementation Activity in Ibi (Spain). We will work with the same proposal in Cyprus.
